The Petting Zoo...And so ended our zoo day...

Our last zoo stop was at the petting zoo. We petted goats...well, some of us did, but a certain 2-yr-old was leery and did not want anything to do with those animals. In fact he didn't get it why dad and brother were going near them. However, with his dad's help, he got a bit braver and almost petted one before we left...and like the great mom I am, I stood by and documented the event in photo format...check out the pictures I took...

Big Spider web at zoo

There is a big spider web at the zoo for the kids to play on...note the leader of the pack is the biggest kid...Wes...Oh, and I admit, i joined in too...We were one cute little spider family-check us out!

One note-I gave Solace the option to miss any day(s) of school she wanted for dad's vacation this week, and she did not want to miss any! Not only does she love it, but she feels responsible to be there everyday. It was a bit sad for me that she didn't want to come with us, especially since I miss her terribly every day, but I am proud of her for her hard work and dedication to school already! (Let's see what she says in high school about missing...) Anyway-that is why there is a vacant spot where my Solace should be in these pics!

Aquarium and Giraffes

Here are a few pics of the aquarium and the giraffes...

Dad, boys and Kindle (in shark tunnel)
Sea turtle-head down
Giraffes
Look Wes is the height of a baby giraffe.
Riding...
Actual quote "Mom, yook at me I am on a rock-take picture of me!!"
Kindle was there patiently in her seat (as usual). She is such a great baby!!

New Zoo Butterfly House

OK, so we have a big zoo and we went there for hours earlier this week with daddy since he has had the week off!!! Here are some pics of the new butterfly house.

A butterfly landed on Wes and he was carefully trying to move it on to a safe spot.
Cute Kindle looks on from her seat... There he is moving the butterfly
Ah...safety!
Ender looking on a butterfly
A blue morpho butterfly.
Boys look on
"Mom, take another picture of me here."

Get into mommy's makeup once, shame on you! Get into mommy's makeup twice, shame on me!!

Oh yeah-for the second time in like a week Armour got into my makeup. Awesome...

Look how much he likes it!

Whole new museum!

So, we went to the rest of the museum while we were there looking at Dinosaurs, and guess what? In the year we lived away they changed the whole thing! It was like going for the first time. Here we are doing various activities (all after the dinosaurs of course)...

Shopping in the new improved grocery area...
While we were there we thought we would learn about a balanced healthy meal using this new activity Ender is showing in this picture. It went well overall...
Armour working on his
Ender working on his
Ender's final product (he had no fruit in his options so he left it blank he told me)
(Oh also-I do not know why this pic is sideways-it will not work.)
Armour's finished project was not quite right, but hey-we did convince him to leave the candy off of this one...
Armour the fireman (He would not leave this seat for a good long while)
Playing in the firehouse water area...
In the new playhouse area...

Armour the farmer
So, near the end We started to lose it (note Ender's face)
Then we REALLY started to lose it!
And then we left...ah life! I love it!

Oh Boy have we been Busy! Remember way back when D was for Dinosaurs...

When we did the D for Dinosaurs week, we went on a mommy school field trip to the special dinosaur exhibit to learn even more!! It was SO fun. Here are a few of our pictures:

Kindle in the car seat/strollerBoys and Baby
T Rex in the background
In the background is the herd of deinonychus eating a tenontosaurus.
Here's a better pic of that...
Here is Kindle staring at it...

Mommy School update

Though on my blog it may look as though I have lost track of mommy school, it is not true. I am just staying busy with it (and everything else). I do not think I am going to be able to put up the daily lesson plans, but I will just give a general overviews of the weeks...(well, the ones I haven't already blogged about)...
A was airplanes
B was baseball
C was caterpillar
D was dinosaur (we did a TON of stuff this week!! We learned about all kinds of dinosaurs and even went to the Children's Museum and saw the Dino exhibit and learned more. I will post pics of that "field trip." We learned about all kinds of different things with Dino themed worksheets-math, coloring, drawing, science, history, even a bit of geography as we talked about where each Dino was found. It was an awesome week)
E was for Ender (We did an "All about me" themed week. We made books all about ourselves, we did our favorite things and made our favorite foods. We had a blast!!)
F was for fish (...sort of...I was going to do something else, but we wanted to get a fish as a field trip for f week. so we did f fir fish, but this week we really focused on a bunch of different f words and did worksheets and fun, and other learning inspired by a variety of f-inspired words.) BTW, I know my readers and I know many of you just thought of naughty words-or at least one-we avoided that completely-this is mommy school people! :)
G is for Growing (We are learning about growing. We bought some tulip and daffodil bulbs that we are going to plant today or tomorrow, we are talking about their growth. We are also talking this week about kids growing up healthily-so we will talk about health and taking care of our bodies so we can grow up happy, healthy and well. We also focused on other g words yesterday such as grandparents and we went to the zoo and visited the "g" animals-goats, giraffes...)

We are loving mommy school and learning a lot-sorry to keep you out of the loop!

Daddy/Daughter soccer league practice

This video was taken a couple weeks ago (yes I am that far behind on our blogs-I have not been able to get the pics on the computer until last night). It is just over a minute of cute fun play time with her dad-she also talks a lot in it.
