Yesterday was a big day for Armour!! Not only did he get a baby brother, but his (and dad's) "modeling shoot" magazine came out. Could not let the day pass without including that as well! Here's a pic of the cover and the inside pics:

February 2010: In cell phone photos...Part 1 Wes

As you probably all know, Wes is a radiology resident. This means that sometime during his 4 years in radiology residency, he has to go spend 4 weeks in Washington DC to do a national training. Well, that 4 weeks happened to be last month-Feb 2010. You might recall that DC had a storm that essentially shut the place down last month. That happened RIGHT as Wes was trying to fly there. That is a crazy story, but lets just say that after much hassle, stress & numerous flight changes, Wes made it to DC. Then he spent the first full week there stuck in the snow with his training cancelled due to the snow. Here are some of the snowy pictures he sent back via cell phone-can you spot the cars?! It's hard...

This first pic is my fave-it is the grill on his apartment porch...looks more like a troll to me...

Wes: A man with a mission...and a blog.

Wes has a blog. It is listed on my sidebar. He was turning into quite a blogger...but now, he has not posted in like a week. This is the last thing he posted:

I just want to take this opportunity to point out an inconvenient truth. In the 5 1/2 years since I started medical school and have been living away from Utah we have made 2 visits across the country to Maryland and California in cities we had never been to before to see Mickey and Natalie (we don't even have a gps, unless Rochelle counts), 1 to see Eli and Trieste in Montana, 2 to see Tyson and Lindsey in Colorado, and multiple visits back to Utah for various reasons and to visit everyone there. I hate to report it, but aside from visits from G. G. and Great Grandpa, my parents and my little brothers and sisters (not Tyson), no one else has come to visit (Beckee's family has visited extensively, and are more than welcome to visit any time). This is an open invitation for Thanksgiving this year. Tyson at least has an excuse. Eli and Mickey have the least excuse of all, what good is being a dentist if you can't even visit your poor resident cousin in Nebraska? Cody and Bret, you have never been here. All of my cousins are on the hook, Adam, Sarah, Laura, Cassie and the rest of you. We have a queen-sized bed in an extra room as well as two extra toddler beds and a top-bunk. There are two other big living rooms that we could set up for families and kids. The first two families to invite themselves are invited. I have Wednesday through Sunday off the week of Thanksgiving so we could actually visit. We make crispy-skin Turkey....
Love, Wes

Two theories on why he no longer blogs: First, I am pretty sure that the lack of response to his open invitation has lowered his level of blogging interest...so I am reposting our invitation on our family blog...maybe it will remind our wonderful family of the open invitation...Come on down to the Heartland and visit Wes-lets get him blogging again...

Oh yeah-the second reason for Wes's lack of blogging might be that he had to go back to work...maybe...

Too coordinated?!

Every once in a while we think back to the crazy random things that seemed to happen each time we went to Riverfront Park in Spokane. One of the crazy stories came up the other day...let me tell you about it, then I will ask for some participation on your part...

So, one day we went to the park in Spokane, and we had just been swimming, so Wes was wearing his swimsuit and a matching shirt. He walked over to the bridge to check out some fish that a guy was catching while the kids and I played at the water thing. While he was there, a guy stopped and started asking Wes about the fish the other guy was catching. At first Wes just thought the guy was interested in the fish like he was, but it became apparent that the guy was not at all interested in the fish, just Wes. So, Wes just said something about his wife and the guy pretty promptly lost his interest.

Yes, Wes got hit on at the park by a homeless gay guy-seriously. Honestly, it weirded him out a bit and ever since then he is always a bit leery of wearing his swim suit anywhere-even when we are going swimming. As a matter of fact, the other day when we were going to the swim party, Wes purposely put on his green hat with his blue/grey swim shorts and his shirt so he would not look too coordinated on the way to the swim party.

So, why do I blog about this now?! Here's why...

If you read my deep thought about weight loss, you may have noticed that I mentioned that Wes runs (or roller blades) quite a distance every evening. Well, the other day as he was getting ready to go, he worried that he may have been too coordinated. I took pictures of him so I could post them and ask-what do you, the readers, think? Too coordinated? Note the shoes have all the colors he is wearing in them...
I will make a poll on the side so you can vote on whether Wes is too coordinated on his jogs...

Wesley's Birthday-Zoo activity.

Well, yesterday, in honor of Wesley's birthday, we decided to take a day off from unpacking and go to the zoo with our kids. It was Kindle's first ever zoo trip, and the first Armour actually remembers. We bought a zoo pass so I am sure we will be visiting often through the year! Yeah!

Also to celebrate, we went to Sizzler for lunch as a family (where the kids eat free salad bar Mon, Tues, & Wed). It was fun and cheap! Then I had a great surprise when I got home from one of my former young women and great friend Sarah. She had noticed that it was Wesley's birthday and offered to watch our kids for us so we could go out. We had just planned on being stuck at home, but since she offered, we were able to go out to dinner.

Wes & I (and Kindle) went to the Kona Grill where it was happy hour with half price food if you sat at the bar. So we did (which was kinds cool to watch the bartenders make all the drinks). It was not a smokey bar, and we were able to pull up a baby carrier right next to us there. We had great food, great conversation, and watched a lot of alcoholic drinks being made-very interesting! Thank you SOOOO much Sarah!! It has been a long, long time since we were able to go out without the kids!

Here are a few zoo pics from our day:

You cannot enter the zoo without playing on the lions!

Wes and Armour climbing across the bridge-I took the pic from the other side of the waterfall.

(This is in the jungle BTW)

Looking at the HUGE snake that was Solace's favorite as a small girl-not so sure it is her favorite now...she was a bit nervous about it-I guess she knows better now about how dangerous it could be out of the glass...

Kindle in the stroller with the macaws behind her-I traditionally have gotten pics of Wes holding each kid in front of the macaws. Wes was fighting Armour, so this was the best I could do for now.

There they all are in front of the macaws.
There is this new butterfly exhibit (we did not go in-the line was insane!!) But, outside the exhibit there are these awesome benches, and we HAD to take pictures of them.

This picture doesn't accurately show what I wanted to show and that was that Kindle was actually looking actively around at the animals above her in the jungle at this moment...I guess my camera's delay was an issue here...
As a side note-you may be thinking, man, how does she have time to blog with moving and everything...the answer is that I really don't, but last night I couldn't sleep, and today I am just doing this on an unpacking break while I nurse Kindle. I am on my own now as work officially started today.

Happy Birthday Wes!

I just don't want the day to pass without wishing Wes a happy birthday publicly on my blog! I have bragged about him a ton on here, but I just wanted to mention a few great things about our sexy birthday boy!

1-He is a work horse and cannot stop until a job is done. Because of this, our house is close to unpacked already!

2-He is the world's best husband and dad! He never ceases to amaze me with his relentless energy and with all the fun activities he does with me and the kids.

3-He is HOT!!!

4-We all love and appreciate you Wes and I just want to say-babe, we are totally the same age for like 3 months!!!

We love you and Happy Birthday!!!

Wes's Contribution to the Blog

As part of Wes's Intern graduation last night, each intern was asked to come up with some funny things about themselves and to make those things into PowerPoint slides. Then the people there were supposed to guess which intern each thing was about. These are the slides Wes made about himself. Pretty funny!! ( You might have to click on them and make them bigger to read them. Or maybe I will just type above them what each question says so you can see it easier without opening new windows.)

"This intern plays the accordion."

"This intern attended anger management counseling to avoid expulsion from the 6th Grade."

"This intern got kicked out of a waterpark on his/her honeymoon for "deliberately catching too much air" on one of the waterslides."

"This intern's first girlfriend was a Utah Jazz Cheerleader."

"This intern has a recurrent nightmare that he/she has to save his/her family from a marauding T-rex then gets sucked down a storm drain, emerging from the sewer somewhere in California."

" Unbeknownst to this intern, his/her best friend in high-school was a member of a polygamist sect."

"This intern once swam across a lake for a Jolly Rancher."

I hope you all enjoyed this little insight into Wesley's life!! :)

All about Wes...

So, I was looking at this random blog...ok I guess I was kind-of blog-stalking, and I saw this tag. It was a "husband tag" and at the end it said if you read it, then you were tagged. You know how I feel about that, so here it goes-all about Wes!!

What is your Hubby's name? He goes by Wes
How long have you been together? We just celebrated our 7th anniversary in May. Our first date was 7 years age in January. This was taken June 2001.
Who said I love you first? That would be Wes. Guess what I said back?! I said "You do?"
Who is smarter? Dr Wes by a long shot!!! (Here he is at his Med school Match day)
Who does the housework? We both do.
Who sleeps on the right? Depends-Wes used to until the baby bed went on the right side, so we traded. Even though I have the bed all to myself right now, I have been mostly sleeping on the right side still. I wonder if Wes has been sleeping on a certain side in his bed in Spokane?! I am gessing not-I bet he is sprawled out over the whole bed! Well, Wes, am I right? This is how I imagine Wes is in Spokane:
Who pays the bills? Me, but he makes all the money for me to pay them with!
Who cooks dinner? Usually me, but he cooks pretty often too. This was our Easter dinner this year that he cooked:
Who drives when you are together? Wes usually does, and this is why:
Who is more stubborn? Depends on the situation!
Who kissed who first? Wes kissed me, but with much flirting and not-so-subtle encouragement on my part...
Who proposed? Wesley did. Read the story here.
Who has more siblings? Wes (he has 5 sibs plus 3 of them are married, so 3 in laws. I have 3 sibs, 1 married, so 1 in law) The first pic is Wes's family (with grandparents), but missing Jessica's husband, Bret and missing one niece (Heighley) and 2 of our kids (Armour and Kindle). The second pic is my family just missing Kindle.

Who wears the pants? Wes
I tag: Every Wife that looks at my blog-When you have time it's fun!
Just a few more things I love about Wes:
I love what a crazy monkey he is-that guy has so mch energy to go out and do stuff ALL the time! I love going out with Wes-just the 2 of us. We love our alone time!

He always plays with our kids and loves them like crazy. He loves playing with them.Even when that playing means he gets hit in the crotch by a snowball...I love when he lets his goatee grow!I love how sweet he is with our babies! I love you & miss you Wes!
