WAHOO!! After a rough week, I finally made it to day 20! I am 1/5 of the way to my goal! What a great day! I didn't even realize where I was when I made the video so I think I said I was on like day 18. Thank goodness I was totally off!
Here's that inaccurate video from today's walk:
A couple pictures from after the walk.
Screenshots below. Take note that I was UNDER 16 minutes per mile today! It is much easier to be faster when you aren't walking through deep snow. It will be even better when there is NO snow and I can just wear my awesome new running shoes instead of the big heavy boots I have been wearing (boy my ankles are sore). I keep saying I should have done this in the spring/summer or fall, but maybe it's good to do it now. It forces me to go out in the hard weather, so maybe it will seem easy when the weather gets nicer!
1.61 miles in 25:30. That is a 15:50/mile average! Fast enough to do a Disney run...now to sustain that pace for an extended period...
So happy to be a fifth of the way done. I can do it!!!
I DID IT!!! YEAH! Today I had a lunch with the radiology wives (all the wives of the doctors my husband works with). The lunch was at noon, and I had to drop my daughter off at school a little over an hour before that. I decided to just drive downtown to where the lunch was to be held and walk around slowly, comfortably and hopefully for at least a mile before I went in for lunch. I managed to do it and without too much pain (thank you Advil). Here's my video:

And some screenshots of the walk report.
1.09 Miles! Phew!
Since I am picking up where I left off before the Mulligans, this is day 19/100. Tomorrow we hit 20! Yeah. Go me!
The image above is a screenshot of the definition of a Mulligan. Look at definition 2. That is the one I am referring to. The part I like best is that it is "Not counted on the scorecard."
Today was day 2 of mulligan...not counted to the scorecard for my 100 day challenge. I really needed another recovery day from this fall on the ice. I feel like a sad old lady, but oh well. Hoping I will be in less pain tomorrow and will feel up to the walk.
Hoping to jump back in tomorrow.
Today, I am calling a Mulligan! Today I did not walk, and I choose NOT to count it against myself. I will just jump back in tomorrow with that as a newly reset day 19. Yesterday I wrote this:
This was a rough walk. There was black ice everywhere and it was dark. I mention in the beginning of the following video that I just fell hard. That was no joke. I have an injured shoulder, and I fell so fast and hard that I didn't even have time to react and braace the fall at all. I hit squarely on my left hip/butt and my already injured left shoulder. I was able to finish this walk, but by the time I got home I was very, very sore and in tears. I am apparently officially an old lady...it was a sad day...
Well, today, the pain in my body was excruciating. Like really, I could hardly move. I need a recovery day of at least a day. My doctor (husband) said that it will likely be at least a 6 week recovery with my body and the pain, but that I can still walk, but that it was probably a good idea to take today off. So I am doing that! Sorry, but sometimes you have to take a Mulligan.
Somehow tomorrow I will try to find the strength to walk through the pain...
