Great, Great Grandma Ada...yeah 2 Greats...

Wesley has a Great Grandma Ada that is in her late 90s (born 1912) and still alive. So, for Solace, Ender, Armour, Kindle, and Baby J 5 (and about 100+ other kids), she is their great, Great Grandma. Just so you know the line, it is our kids, Wes, his dad Steve, Steve's mom Geraldean, and Geraldean's mom Ada.

Ada lives in a retirement home now, so while in Utah last June, we sang at the home for her and her friends. I did not get many pics of our performance, but I got a couple, and I got some after show pics with Ada and Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.

It was great to FINALLY get a pic of Kindle with her Great, Great Grandma!

Utah The Aquarium...

While in Utah we went to the aquarium in Sandy with Wes's parents. Sadly, the days activity ended with Wes's mom, Anne having a stroke (not bad-she is fine now, but it did affect her swallowing and she is still re learning it). Here are the FUN aquarium pics from before the stroke:

Lots of good family fun!

While in Utah we stopped by Temple Square...

We took some time to hang out downtown when Wes was at his conference...

Beautiful SLC!

WAY back in June 2010...

We went to Utah to visit. Wesley had a Poster accepted at a conference in Utah and so his work paid for him to attend the conference, stay at a hotel, and eat great food. We decided to make it a fun family vacation. It was amazing as we got to stay in the amazing Grand America Hotel in Downtown SLC...very luxurious! See:

FYI, the balcony with the open drapes in the middle is our room.
Before I show you all the fun pics, I must tell you the horror of getting there. I do not remember all the details of that happened through Wyoming, but we were stuck for a long time somewhere in Wyoming (was that the time we were on the side of the road in a place with no bathrooms for 5 hours? Yeah...I think that was the one). BUT we HAD to make it to Utah that night because Wes had to set up his poster at the conference EARLY the next morning.

By the time we made in to the Grand America, it was about midnight. Wes went in to pay (you have to put all the stuff on your Credit Card then submit all reciepts for reimbursement when you get home for his work). He was in there a while and came out furious as the Credit Card would not work. I immediately called them to fight, btu as it was the middle of the night and they were LOW staffed, it took like 45 minutes just to get through to someone after which I learned they flagged it as an unusually high charge on a hardly used card. SO, I just had to go through some additional hassles over the next hour on the phone with them before they would let us charge our hotel.

So, around 2 am we finally got to our wonderfully luxurious hotel room ney suite. See these pictures below:

Beautiful, no?! Yeah we thought so too. BUT as many of you know, our Solace gets REALLY car/motion sick. SO far we had been good that day. We put everyone in bed and settled in, then Solace rolled over and projectile vomitted all over between the 2 beds (it went so far it got all over me as well). Oh gross...so we called for help as we did not have any supplies to fix this problem, and guess what? It took them until about 3:30 am to get someone up there to help (I was pissed). We all hung out in the tv/couch room in the mean time and tried to rest. It was a rocky start to what turned out to be a great vacation.

Here are pictures around the hotel:

Well-are you pictured out yet?! Cause this is just the first of many picture posts to come...Booh Yeah!

We may need to work on our reverance...aka General Conferencs in Utah

Boy are we terrible at watching General Conference! We went over to Ashley and Cody (and baby Sam)'s house to watch with the Johnsons on Sunday, and I fear we distracted all from conference...sorry about that. We are one energetic distraction! Here are some of the things we did during conference...I am SOOO going to need to read the Ensign...

We were climbing on the grown up chairs
Jumpin gon aunts (and forcing tickle parties)
Sleeping
Distracting Grandma
Decorating Grandpa (this is Solace's work)
And decorating daddy...
Well, looking at Wes and his dad in these pictures basically just proves the old saying:
"Like Father, Like Son."

Easter Bunny, boy or girl? Check out our Easter morning in Utah while you think on that...

We happened to be there for Easter (which happened to be GREEK Easter and General Conference as well). Below are a few pictures of Easter morning at my parents house. Once again, we were so glad that the Easter Bunny could find us away from home!

We did have an interesting disagreement at our house this year as to whether the Easter bunny is in fact a boy or a girl...what do you all think?

Enjoy our pics while you think on that...
