Take that Jonny!
Will my house and my sanity survive potty training?! I think no...
Lets just say that today we started the only underwear thing-no more pull-ups...
All I have to say is that 6 poops on my couch and carpet later, and 4 pees in various hidden locations around my house, I am SOOOO done... all boy underwear in my house is in the washer, Armour is in a swim diaper, and we are about to go to Walmart to get more underwear-and emergency pull-ups for when mom has to actually take him places...
Oh and this weekend, he is all yours daddy! Enjoy!
Update: I also got chocolate cupcakes while I was there-for me, not him...

HAH HAH HAH!! THAT IS SO FUNNY, BECKEE! I THINK POTTY TRAINING IS A BITTERSWEET ORDEAL WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH AS PARENTS. IT'S SO WONDERFUL WHEN IT'S FINALLY ACCOMPLISHED, BUT MERE MISERY DURING THE TRAINING. LUCKY YOU HAD A SWIM DIAPER NEAR BY. ALL IN GOOD TIME, I'M SURE. AND GOOD FOR YOU IN GETTING CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES FOR YOURSELF. THANK HEAVENS FOR CHOCOLATE, OTHERWISE I DON'T KNOW HOW US FEMALES WOULD MAINTAIN OUR SANITY.
Oh, good luck! Potty training is the pits!!! We ended up just bribing Nathan with little toys cars. Yes, we are bad parents, but it worked like a charm!!
Potty training is fun! :) I'm glad you got some chocolate cupcakes for you, Mommys of potty training 2 year olds deserve all the yummy chocolate in the world! Good luck!
I hate hate hate potty training. My Ally didn't train until she was four and we started when she was 20 months. She was so super smart I just kept trying because she seemed so ready. Finally at 4 years 3 months she got it, but it is sad to admit this that just the last two weeks she has started having accidents again! What? AHHHHHHH! An almost 5 year old who has accidents. The doctor says she is just a busy little girl and not to worry. How does a mom not worry when her kid who is already reading at four can't figure out how to stay dry and clean.
Anyway, you probably didn't want to know all that. I just want you to know that I understand the woes of potty training more than anyone and I have tried it all. Just try not to over react and try not to worry -- he will get it.
Good for you getting yourself a treat because you deserved it. I don't think I will ever potty train my son. He will just have to figure it out on his own -- I don't want to start all over again.
Gabby is perfect at going potty in the potty...if there's a new dolly in it for her....
Oh Good Luck! I hate potty training and boys are the worst. I just don't understand how it all works with them. But keep it up. He will probably never thank you for it, but you will have definently taught him a valuable skill.
Any improvement? Boys typically train later than girls do. If he's not interested yet, wait two monthes and try again. If your sold on doing it now; Try giving him BIG attention for having dry pants. Set a timer every 15 minutes say to him good job having dry pants!!! Tell mommy when You need to go. Carry the timer in your pocket so you can find him and compliment him consistently. Solace and Ender can help too with reinforcing having dry pants.
... I hope you enjoy your cupcakes...
LOL! Jonny loved that by the way. Good luck with the potty training. Maybe we'll buy stock in pull-ups!
When I was potty training kids, I used a book called "Potty Training in Less than a Day". I liked it a lot because it fit into my philosophy of raising kids....be positive, praising, and show lots of love.
Worked for me. Hope it will help you if you choose to use it.
Jonny?
Anyway lol! Good luck with potty training!
