So, every time I get pregnant (and even sometimes when I am not pregnant), I think about names. What will I name this child?! Well before I even know if it is a girl or a boy, I generally already have thought of a number of names. Of course at this point, I have definite requirements for names, the main one being that they need a unique name. I just cannot imagine going around saying "These are my kids, Solace, Ender, Armour, and Bob." Just doesn't really fit with the rest does it?!
My other requirement has been that their name has to mean something. This requirement has becomes harder and harder to fulfill. Solace Rebekah-Solace means peace & comfort, and Rebekah is named (not spelled thought) after her mama. Steven Enderton-Steven after his dad, both his grandpa's, an uncle, & a great-uncle, and Enderton after my maiden name. He's basically a walking tribute to my dad... :) Armour Wesley-Admitedly "Armour" doesn't have the meaning behind it that I had hoped for in a unique name, but it was a unique name that Wes and I both really liked (and stole from a professor of Wesley's), and Wesley, is obviously after his papa.
So far, all the names we have used are ones Wesley has come up with. Thank goodness I listened to him! Otherwise Solace would be Paris (this was before Paris Hilton really became famous). And if I had been choosing, I would have a boy named Creighton by now (but now that we are going to be living in Omaha for another 4 years-do I really want a Creighton? It is not so unique of a name there.)
I have a few ideas for this baby-all very cute and unique, some with great meaning, others are just names I love (like Armour was). This is your chance to voice your opinion. Please feel free to add your ideas to ours using the comments option on this blog. (Andrea-if your husband is submitting names, they may need to be sensored through you first, I know how Jeremy gets when he is coming up with "unique" names!) :)
Let the names flow in, and remember-you can leave comments on this blog even without a google sign in. It will be left as "anonymous" though, so please leave your name in the comment somewhere. Just so I know who to thank for the wonderful ideas! :)

I am into the normal with James and Allison as my kids names, but if I was to come up with unique names I may do: kjærlighet this is the Norwegian word for love and one my parents almost named my sister it is pronounced Sharlihette. I would spell it more like the sound, but I think it is pretty. I also like Shayla, and Autumn. I have a hard time with boys names so I have no help for you there.
Okay, I've thought back on unique names I've heard and I'll list them below. Would like to say to Laura, I like the name Autumn (that's my daughter's name). For girls: Lyric or Saige. Boys: Danick, Asher (in the bible, means happy), Brooks, or Dreagan. I'll keep thinking and pass on more names. Let us know what you are thinking!
So I don't know how different this is but I like Riley for a boy. I also heard the name Creed for a boy today and thought of you. I think it sounds really cool.
Girl names: Jayla, Spring, Janika, Sephorra, Isabel, Ari, Tonks (or Nymphadora works too)
Boy Names: Jarom, Julian, Abe, Becker, Cedric, Davin, Mack, Kip, Jayden, Gabe, Cameron, Casey, Donny, Howard :)
We'll keep thinking.
Boys: Emmett, Jasper, Carlisle, Albus, Neville, Bryan, Ronald, Dean, Blaise, Vincent
Girls: Rosalie, Esme, Willow, Nichelle, Esther, Anastasia, Ella, Daedree, Mika, Trisha

alright I tried to go with meaning and uniqueness, some of these don't hold up to your standard of unique... but I will leave that to you.
First I would like to say that while Creighton is common in Omaha, it's not common anywhere else and is a super awesome name. so my real vote is there (girl or boy).
but here are my other names
Girls: Addison, Chloe, Anneliese (it would almost be like Anne), Liesel (form of Elizabeth - my mom was talking about nobody names there kids after her so these were some nods), Celestia, Daphne, Blaire, Olivia
Boys:Adonis, Anton, Mars, Jens, Gannon, Jerrold/Gerald (maybe middle?), Garth, Emerson, Remington, Colt, Browning, Gideon, Quezon, Saxon, Nikomedes, Wyatt,
oh, and I still like Jaspar
I am not very good at coming up with unique names---unique spelling sure, but this nada!
Nala - Hee Hee!
Kovu - Hee Hee!
Valentine - I'm funny. It's okay, admit it!
Lynn George!
I like guacamole, barbeque, Salsalita, Spear, Sword, chip, sophyphia, gabbyrella,
cipher, gauntlet, porkchop
What happened to Rochelle Anne? We have a friend who's daughter is named Symphonie-I like that. What about Sapphire, that's pretty. . . .and it's your birthdaystone. Just imagine-these are my kids: Solace, Ender, Armour, and Sapphire. Very nice. Or Ruby, that's Wes' birthdstone, althought it's not quite as unique. I really like the name Helene-that's Greek. Zoe and Chloe are also Greek. I also like Athena-she's the goddess of heroic endeavors. Arabella is a good one. Odessa. . . .Jasper. . . Hezekiah. . . .just a few to think about. :)
I just noticed that all Melanie's name suggestions are from Harry Potter and Twilight! :)
